What file formats are supported?

Virtually all modern file formats will play on AbleSign including:

Image formats:

• PNG
• JPG

Video formats:

• MP4
• VOB
• MPEG
• M4V
• M2TS

If you are creating new video content we recommend using MP4 files with the H264 codec as this is widely used and will be compatible with most devices.

High bitrates

Devices running on AndroidTV or FireTV use hardware acceleration to playback video files. There may be limitations on your device as to the highest bitrate acheivable.

In general, we suggest bitrates under 10Mbps for HD video.

Other considerations

Bear in mind that 4K video files will often not play on lower end devices such as the FireTV stick LITE.

Files should be less than 1.8GB in size.
